Our History

A history of excellence, a future of exceptionalism Founded in New York in 1907, as a supplier of washers and gaskets to power the railroad industry, Phoenix Specialty is a 4th generation family owned business built by people with a passion for superior service, quality and reliability. For over 100 years, Phoenix Specialty has made small, precision components that are critical to a host of industries - all made to the exact specifications of the customer. We have manufactured millions of parts for thousands of customers worldwide.

Since relocating to Bamberg, South Carolina in 1967, we have continued to grow our industry and customer base and have expanded into more specialty stamped parts.

Our parts are manufactured to exacting standards, for the most technically advanced industries of the 21st century. From aviation turbine engines to medical pumps & valves and everything in between, Phoenix Specialty has become the leading supplier of custom parts to America’s OEMs.

Founded in N.Y. producing washers and gaskets

Phoenix moved to its final location in Bamberg, S.C. serving thousands of OEMs.

Expanded into the aerospace industry & eventually became one of the first AS certified companies in the U.S.

Robert R. Hurst moved manufacturing to Garden City, N.Y.

Albert H. Lowman purchased the company and relocated to Freeport, N.Y.
