Our History

A history of excellence, a future of exceptionalism Founded in New York in 1907, as a supplier of washers and gaskets to power the railroad industry, Phoenix Specialty is a 4th generation family owned business built by people with a passion for superior service, quality and reliability. For over 100 years, Phoenix Specialty has made small, precision components that are critical to a host of industries - all made to the exact specifications of the customer. We have manufactured millions of parts for thousands of customers worldwide.

Since relocating to Bamberg, South Carolina in 1967, we have continued to grow our industry and customer base and have expanded into more specialty stamped parts.

Our parts are manufactured to exacting standards, for the most technically advanced industries of the 21st century. From aviation turbine engines to medical pumps & valves and everything in between, Phoenix Specialty has become the leading supplier of custom parts to America’s OEMs.

Phoenix Specialty maintains an extensive inventory of certified raw materials in order to meet the delivery needs of our customers. We have over 300 di erent types of materials on hand in thousands of thicknesses, widths, and tempers. We are compliant with DFAR requirements and can provide material certifications with ease. Please note: Phoenix Specialty Mfg. Co. does not sell material. We supply only the finished part. We understand managed inventory. We will inventory your products in house – so you don’t have to. At Phoenix Specialty, we manufacture in economic quantities based on your annual part usage. Our safety stock levels help to avoid unplanned production down time, and if inventory falls below the safety stock level we will automatically replenish it, so your next release is ready to go. When participating in our managed inventory system, you get our best pricing. Your price is fixed for the terms of the agreement, and you only pay for parts when they are released.

Our state-of-the-art tool and die shop allows us to produce tooling in hours - with no tooling charges or hidden fees.

We manufacture precision, compound, hard tooling that assembles and runs in our master die set system. We’ve mastered the art of compound tooling so whether it is an ultra-thin shim or a hard to find ring washer, we have the capability to quickly produce tooling to meet your part requirements.

With over 20,000 dies, we have access to one of the largest inventories of interchangeable dies in the industry.

High quality waterjet parts When conventional stamped methods may not be applicable, waterjet cutting allows Phoenix Specialty to provide you with high quality parts in low volumes. Waterjet cutting is the preferred method when the materials being cut are sensitive to the high temperatures generated by other traditional cutting methods.

No production tooling is required when manufacturing your waterjet parts. At Phoenix, you’ll never pay a tooling charge or hidden fee!
