The year was 1907 , and the company first began providing washers and gaskets to local railroads and power utilities. With multiple state of the art CNC Swiss Machines, Phoenix Specialty has the capability of producing small precision cylindrical components in low to medium volumes. Swiss Style Screw Machines are well suited for the manufacturing of small, precision parts and also for long slender parts which could deflect or vibrate if turned on a conventional screw machine or lathe. Swiss Style screw machines provide completed back working of the component and are fast and extremely accurate holding tight tolerances.

When conventional stamped methods may not be applicable, this new capability provides you with high quality parts in smaller volumes. Water jet cutting is the preferred method when the materials being cut are sensitive to the high temperatures generated by other traditional cutting methods. A benefit of the water jet is the ability to cut material without interfering with its inherent structure, as there is no "heat-affected zone". Minimizing the effects of heat allows metals to be cut without harming or changing intrinsic properties. Water jet cutting provides the ability of short runs and prototype parts, eliminating the need to make production tooling.

In addition to our in-house training , we employ multiple American Society for Quality certified Six Sigma Black Belts, Six Sigma Green Belts, and Certified Quality Technicians. Continuous improvement is such an integral part of our day-to-day operations that there are multiple ongoing improvement projects at any given time, including optimizing tooling clearance for die life, optimizing feeds and speeds for Swiss-machined part production, or a DOE (design of experiments) designed to improve wire EDM accuracy.
